Canon’s integrated optical Image Stabilizer offers a three-stop advantage, making it easier to take great shots in low light with long exposures, and reducing the blur associated with camera-shake when shooting distant subjects at the telephoto end of the zoom.
The large, 7.5cm (3.0”) LCD screen, with a 230k dot resolution and optional on-screen Hints & Tips makes it easy to navigate the enhanced menu system and to compose the perfect shot. Any member of the family can achieve great results thanks to a range of intelligent shooting features and creative modes. With Easy Mode, the camera becomes the perfect point-and-shoot, with most buttons disabled and icons removed from the screen to make it easier to compose and capture the best possible shot, without worrying about settings.
Smart Auto with Scene Detection Technology identifies up to 28 different shooting conditions, automatically adjusting the settings to produce the best possible result. Smart Flash Exposure controls flash levels according to shooting conditions, providing the right amount of flash to ensure perfectly exposed shots in all situations, from dimly lit rooms to bright sunlight.
Additional powerful features help to capture split-second moments with ease. Servo AF and AE automatically adjusts focus and exposure when tracking a moving subject, while Smart Shutter with Face Detection technology ensure great group photos, controlling the shutter with a wink, a smile or after a new face enters the frame. Blink detection also warns the user when one of the subjects has their eyes closed, allowing a better image to be shot.
For confident photographers who want more input into how they capture their images, full manual control allows them to individually control shutter speed and aperture to shoot with their chosen settings and create their own effects.
As well as providing help in capturing great images as seen through the lens, the PowerShot SX130 IS also features a range of creative modes to add a new dimension to photos without requiring additional post-production. Owners of this new model can join the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, an online facility for sharing photos and video. Up to 2GB of personal storage capacity is available, creating enough room for hundreds of high-quality images. Mobile browsing is also supported, making it easy for friends and family to view photos on the move.
